BUCKEYE LAKE – A Buckeye Lake man was arrested Monday after being found with more than 600 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle.

Everett E. Gilliland, 46, last known address 172 Central Ave., Buckeye Lake, was charged with first-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs Tuesday morning in Licking County Common Pleas Court.

According to court records, Gilliland was stopped by a detective with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force on Ohio 79 near Third Street in Buckeye Lake on Monday.

Gilliland’s driver’s license was suspended at the time and he was taken into custody.

A search of Gilliland’s vehicle uncovered about 600 grams of methamphetamine, according to court records.

Additional methamphetamine and firearms were also located within the vehicle, court records said.

CODE Lt. Paul Cortright said in a release a search was done of Gilliland’s Central Avenue home and additional methamphetamine, cash and firearms were located.

Detectives also searched two other homes in Buckeye Lake related to Gilliland. Those homes were on Cliff Street and West Seventh Street.

During a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon, Gilliland’s bond was set at $500,000.

Gilliland faces a mandatory maximum sentence of 11 years in prison if convicted of the crime he is currently facing.

In an unrelated case, 31-year-old Buckeye Lake resident Alicia Collins was charged with second-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs. According to court records, a search warrant was executed at Collins’ home on Walnut Road on April 24.

During that search, about 96 grams of methamphetamine were located.

Collins’ had her bond set at $25,000.

Both Gilliland and Collins could face additional charges when their cases are presented to a grand jury in the coming weeks.
